Rev. Dr. Scott Shetter

The Rev. Dr. Scott Shetter was born and raised in Western PA and has always been active in the life of the church.  After pursuing careers in other fields of interest, he finally surrendered to God’s call to enter the ministry.

While completing his time in seminary, Pastor Scott became temporary supply at the First Presbyterian Church of Castle Shannon. Here, he would complete his MDiv. and would learn the many intricacies of serving a small church.

On October 1, 2011, Pastor Scott was ordained and installed there and had served as their pastor through July 2019.   During that time, he began work on a Doctorate in Discipleship. He believes the future of the church depends upon us building relationships with one another, with our God, and with our communities.

Pastor Scott came to The Church of the Covenant in August of 2019 and continued his doctoral studies.  In November 2021, he completed his studies, and his thesis was published.  He continues work developing discipleship ministry at the church.

Pastor Scott met his wife, Kimberly, while working at a radio station in Pittsburgh. They have a wide variety of interests. Kimberly enjoys working with graphic and website design. They both love period dramas.  Pastor Scott is an avid reader and has a very broad library. They have two grown daughters; Lauren who gave them their grandson Beckett, and Taylor with her husband, Zachary, who gave them their granddaughter, Elliana and one on the way.
